  • The constructions of two counters (NR1 and NR2) and their characteristicsare presented. In the region from thermal energy to 17 MeV, the detectable doseequivalent values range from 10~(-4) to 10~2 mrem·h~(-1) and the neutron doseequivalent sensitivity is approximately 140 cps/mrem·h~(-1) for the counter NR1;the detectable dose equivalent values range from 10~(-4) to 65 mrem·h~(-1) and the doseequivalent sensitivity~209 cps/mrem·h~(-1) for the counter NR2 in the energy rangefrom thermal to 7 MeV. Compared with the rem counter SIUDSVIK 2202D, theirdose equivalent readings are consistent within ±10% when neutron beams areapproximatly perpendicular to the counter axis.
