PREPARATION OF TARGETS OF POWDERED MATERIALS WITH CENTRIFUGAL PRECIPITATION METHOD

  • The preparation of various powdered material targets in thickness of 1 to50 mg/cm~2 on backings of aluminium, gold and mylar thicker than 1 μm using acentrifugal precipitation method is described. Collodion in alcohol is used as thesusponsion agent for the target materials. In most cases, the yield of the methodis 80%. The amount of residual collodion in the target is about 5% and can bedecreased to about 1% by heating.
