  • The transition from the rectangular waveguide to the cavity coupler in LINACis made by means of a matching iris, which leads to amplitude and phase asym-metries of fields in the cavity coupler. Amplitude asymmetry will be remedied bya proper adjustment of offsetting the coupler cavity, the value of ΔAE/E can bereduced to 1% or less.
