  • By study of the characteristic of home--made cold--cathode PIG ion sourceneutron tube and by analysis of its operation principle, the dependence of theneutron yields on the acceleration voltage, the anode voltage and the reservoircurrent is explained. The neutron tube characteristic is given, and the methods forregulating and controlling the neutron yields are evaluated.
