THE DETERMINATION OF TRACE Gd, Sm, Dy, and Eu IN Zr-Nb ALLOY BY CATION ION-EXCHANGE SEPARATION-HORIZONTAL ICP-AES METHOD

  • In this method, the Zr--Nb alloy sample is disolved in HF and converted intosulfates with H_2SO_4. Then the RE are separated from Zr and the other elementswith cation ion--exchange resin, and then determined by horizontal ICP--AES. Thismethod can determine 0.04ppm Gd, Sm and 0.008ppm Dy, Eu and with 1 gramsample the relative standard deviation is less than ± 15%. The percentage recoveryis 90--115%. This method is also simple and rapid.
