PROBLEMS ON THE STANDARDS OF RADIONUCLIDES CONCENTRATIONS IN WATER SOURCES

  • In this paper we discuss the development of dose limitation standards relatedto the case of internal exposure. In the parst radionuclides concentrations inwater had been applied to basic safety standards for radiation protection. Nowradionuclides concentrations in water as dose limitation standards are no longreasonable, because of a lot of uncertainties involved. For environmental manage-ment purposes, it is often required using radionuclides concentrations in water asthe authorized limits for environmental contamination levels. We also discuss themethods for deriving the authorized limits and find that the CF (concentrationfactors) method related to the critical pathways and critical groups should be anappropriate method.
