THE PRESENT STATUS OF BEPC

The progress of BEPC (Beijing Electron and Positron Collider) is brieflydescribedr. The civil engineering is in full swing. The entire structure ofinjector, including Linac tunnel and klystron gallery has been completed. Mostprototypes of non--standard equipment have been completed, such as the bendingmagnet, quadrupoles, disk--loaded waveguide, klystron, modulator etc, except theR. F. cavity. The testing results of the above prototypes have met the designedrequirements. Batch production is underway. The prototype of computer controlsystem of the accelerator based on the new SPEAR system has been developed andestablished with the help of SLAC specialists. The installation of the Linac in thetunnel started in May of this year.
