  • The construction of HIRFL project was progressing steadily during the pastyear. The accelerator building had been put into use since it was completed inNovember 1984 and the assembling of the main components of SSC wasstarted at the end of 1985 in the accelerator hall. Fabrication of the remainingparts of SSC is now under way. The assembling, magnetic field mapping andvacuum test of SFC were completed and the beam tuning will be started soonThe first beam is scheduled for this year for SFC and at the end of 1988 forSSC.
