SEPARATION OF U-233 AND U-232 FROM ThO_2 IRRADIATED IN HFETR BY ANION EXCHANGE

  • Using ThO_2 irradiated in HFETR as a starting material. We investigated theseparation of uranium from Th, Pa-233 and fissron products by anion exchange.The obtained pure uranium portion was analyzed for total uranium amount andU-232/U-233 ratio by photospectrometry and α-spectroscopy respectively. Thiswork provides an efficient radiochemical separation procedure for basic researchon Th-U nuclear fuel cycle.
