DETERMINATION OF URANIUM IN ZIRCONIUM-NIOBIUM ALLOY BY LASER-FLUOROMETRY

  • The direct determination of uranium in Zr-Nb alloy without separation usinglaser-fluorometry is developed. Sodium citrate is used for masking Zr and Nb andsodium pyrophosphate is used as the fluorescence-enhancing agent for uranium.The detection limit of uranium is 0.002 ppm. The precision is ±4% when theuranium content in the sample is 0.010 ppm.
