DISCUSSIONS OF THE PERFORMANCE OF TWO TYPES OF PERMANENT MULTIPOLE MAGNETS

The field distributions of MMD type and MW type multipole permanentmagnets are calculated by means of programme POISCR and the results aresummarized and discussed in this paper. The results show that, considering thenonlinearity of the real demagnetization curve of permanent magnet material, thefield distributions of both types of permanent magnets with the same aperatureare about the same but the field strength of MW type magnet with soft ironshield is higher than that of MMD type magnet.
