LANTHANUM HEXABORIDE CATHODE IN A DUO-PLASMATRON ION SOURCE
In this paper, a cathode configuration and its operating characteristics usinglanthanum hexaboride (LaB_6) as the electron emission material are described. Thiscathode is used in a intense DC duo-plasmatron source of Lanzhou University.The cathode is operated for over 300h. Estimated lifetime is in excess of 500h.
