  • The timing character, of the fission ionization chamber is improved bydecreasing the plate spacing and increasing the plate voltage. With the aid of theORTEC fast modulars, the time resolution of 2 ns is obtained in the fission crosssection measurement by using time correlated associated partiele method. Theefficiency of the chamber is 98.6-99.3%.
