  • Thytoxine (T_4) is esterified to T_4-methylester under two different conditions.Then T_4-methylester is conjugated with bovine serum albumin. The conjugate of T_4-methylester with bovine serum albumin is injected into rabbit's bodies to obtain a highly specific antibody for T_4. The titer of T_4-antibody is 1:3200-14000, the high affinity constant is 3. 5×10~9 1~·mol~(-1), and cross-reactivity for T_3 is less than 0.0001 (as T_3 is 100-1000 times of labeled T_4). The T_4-antibody is used for the production of Thyroxine RIA Kits for quite a few years with good records.
