INVESTIGATION OF THE METASTABLE SOLUTION IN THE VO_2-HF-HCI-H_2O SYSTEM

  • The properties of the metastable solution in the UO_2-HF-HCl-H_2O system are studied. The metastable region is determined by the optical method. When the conditions are changed, the metastable solution decomposes and the characteristic curve of the uranium tetrafluoride is produced. According to the experimental results, the optimal conditions to produce the uranium tetrafluoride by the wet method is described.
