STUDY OF THERMAL NEUTRON DETECTION EFFICIENCY OF ~3He SPHERICAL PROPORTIONAL COUNTER

  • The relations between the neutron detection efficiency of the sphericalcounter and its structural parameter are deduced. The detection efficiencies ofthe ~3He spherical proportional counters for the Maxwell neutrons spectrum, whosetemperature is known, are calculated and measured. The calculated values areconsistent with the measured values in the experimental error.
