A SELF-SUPPORTING TARGET OF Al_2O_3 FOR USE IN NEUTRON TUBE

  • Self-producing targets made of different materials are studied for use in cera-mic neutron tubes, and their properties are compared. The target of Al_2O_3 has alot of advantages such as good thermal stability and ability to support biggercurrent which gives higher neutron density. It also has long life time, and thetechnology for making the target is simple.
