  • The acoustic phonon dispersion curves of the lithium tantalate crystal aremeasured in the two principal symmetry direction 00ξ and 0ξ0 by coherentinelastic neutron scattering. The sound velocities in the crystal are deduced fromthe slope of these branches at low q.
