  • Based on analysis for the neutron production in heavy ion interaction andsome health physics data the parameters for the shielding calculation are deter-mined The thickness of ordinary concrete shielding corresponding to differentneutron dose equivalent rates at 5m and 10m from target are calculated for a Cutarget bombarded with ~(12)C ions of energy of 100 MeV/u and beam current of3.9×10~(11) ions/s.
