STUDY ON THE FORMULATION OF CEMENT SOLIDIFICATION OF 30% TBP-OK ORGANIC LIQUID WASTE

  • The basic formulation for cementation of simulated 30% TBP--OK organicliquid waste from reprocessing plant and the characteristics of the waste form arestudied in this paper. The compatibility and fluidity between TBP--OK and cementmortar are also studied. 425~# sludge cement, BG activiated charcoal (as absorbent)and DH (as additive) are used in the experiment. Leaching test with actual TBP-OK organic liquid waste containing Pu (2.24×10~(-4)g/l) from Purex process is con-ducted. The results show that the compatibility of TBP--OK absorbed on BG acti-viated charcoal and cement mortar is good. The fluidity of cement mortar is 0. 18~0.2m. The waste loading is 14% or higher. The compressive strength is more than10MPa, with the maximum value of 22MPa. The leaching rate of Pu at 42nd dayis less than 1× 10~(-6)cm·d~(-1). The characteristics of the waste form are satisfactory.The cementation process for TBP--OK organic liquid waste with absorption methodis feasible basically.
