SAFETY ASSESSMENT FOR THE BITUMINIZATION FACILITY OF THE MEDIUM-LEVEL WASTE

Thie report is the safety assessment for the home--made bituminization facilityof the medium--level waste duing hot test. The everage exteral dose equivalent permonth is 0.136×10~(-2) Sv. The radioactive substance released into the environmentis much lower than the permissible limit. The danger of burning and exploding ofthe bituminized product was avoided because the operation temperature was con-troled strictly below 170℃. The report also briefly describes the structural characteristic of this bitumini-zation fac lity, the main process and radiation protection and safety measures.
