SEPARATION AND DETERMINATION OF NEPTUNIUM BY N-235 EXTRACTION CHROMATOGRAPHY

  • The separation of neptunium from uranium, plutonium, americium and europium is proposed by extraction chromatographic technique. N-235 is used as the stationary phase on polytetrafluoroethylcue powder. Neptunium is fixed from 2.0 mol·1 ~1HNO_3 solution. After washing the column with 1.0 mol·1 ~(-1)HNO_3 solution, neptunium is eluted with a nitric-oxalic acid mixture. The recoveries are 98.1 ±2.6%.
