ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY, THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY AND PHASE TRANSITION OF U-10Zr ALLOY

  • Electrical resistance of U-10Zr(U_(0.77)Zr_(0.23)) is measured by four-probe method at the tempera-ture range from 300 to 1030K, and electrical resistivity is calculated. Four transition temperaturesare obtained from the electrical resistivity curve, which are 881, 937, 971, and 990K,respectively. Thermal conductivity of U-10Zr alloys is also derived from the electrical resistivitydata according to Wiedemann-Franz's law. Below 880 K, they are in good agreement with thethermal conductivity data derived from the thermal diffusion coefficient which is measured withlaser pulse method, and above 880 K they are in consistent with the experimental data of U_(0.75)Zr_(0.25) alloys measured by Leibowitz et al.
