Abstract

A carbon arc set up and a modified glow discharge apparatus for the preparation of carbon stripper foils are described.The effects of anode size and distance between the two electrodes in the cracking chamber on the uniformity of the carbon foils are determined.The method to measure the thicknesses of the carbon foils and the technique to slacken stripper foils are mentioned.
