Calculation of Concrete Ablation and Decomposition due to Concrete Being Heated During the Core Moltening

  • The multi region transient concrete decomposition and ablation model is developed. The model consists of a thermally affected region, a dry region, a gas free region and concrete molten slag region. Based on the heat balance integral method, the decomposition velocity and depth of concrete are calculated. The results are compared with the foreign experimental data, and a good agreement is achieved.
