  • Polystyrene (PS) is used as the material for producing hollow microspheres. The main factors of density matched emulsifying microencapsulation technique that influence the quality of the microspheres are studied. PS hollow microspheres for inertial confinement fusion targets with diameter from 100 to 500 μm, wall thickness from 2 to 20 μm are fabricated. The microspheres'sphericity, non concentricity and surface roughness are≥99 %,≤5 % and ≤20 nm, respectively.
