The Ideas of Developing Potentialities for Miniature Neutron Source Reactor

  • After long term research, it is believed that there are two utilizableres resources in miniature neutron source reactor(MNSR) provided reactor safety is ensured:(1) The reserve reactivity in the top of berylliums shims can be absorbed by adding compensatory control pated, and then be released progressively. (2) Owing to the big difference in temperature between the reactor water and the pool water during reactor operation, 27 t pool water can be used as a large cool source for cooling the 1.4 t reactor water through the cooling coil in the pool, and the temperature effect gained therefore will externd MNSR successive operation time. These two measures will improve MNSR's performance, widen out its adaptation scope, and add its value.
