The paper mainly researches problems concerned in several design criteria for PWR fuel rod. These design criteria are different between countries. The paper also briefly presents the effects of extended burnup, design improvements, manufacturing process improvements, new material application and operating condition changes, etc on these design criteria for PWR fuel rod.
