  • The paper depicts the mechanism of nodular corrosion of zircaloy-4 cladding tubes and the approach improving nodular corrosion performance. Increasing the Fe and Cr ingredient and adopting low temperature process can improve nodular corrosion performance, which is verified and feasible during fabrication. At present, the zircaloy-4 cladding tubes fabricated by low temperature process can meet the technical requirement, and can ensure the safety of nuclear reactor during its life cycle.
