  • The effect of iron content on room temperature tensile properties of cast U-2Nb alloy is studied. The results indicate that the high Fe content leads to alloy brittle-ness and the fracture surface includes intergranular and clevage fracture mechanism. Alloy with low Fe content has high tensile ductility and the fracture emerges entirely transgranular behavior.
