  • Three codes were developed to compute the alpha eigenvalue using three dif-ferent methods. It was also analyzed why alpha eigenvalue computation would fail indeep subcritical systems. The computed results indicate that the modified direct compu-tation compared with other methods has the advantage of wide calculational range andhigh precision. It is an effective method to solve the difficulty of alpha eigenvalue com-putation in deep subcritical systems.
