  • The systematic tests of a low pressure multi--wire proportional chamber deve-loped by ourself at low energy were performed. It is shown that at the best work condi-tion the position resolution is better than 0. 8 mm, the time resolution is better than2 ns, and the detecting efficiency is nearly 100% at the low energy, so it is fit for theinvestigation of the radioactive ion beam.
