  • The paper concerns in the infrared absorption method for determination of carbon content in the high-purity tantalum powder. The type and amount of flux and sampling amount were studied and optimized conditions of releasing carbon were obtained. The analytical results are satisfactory. The uncertainty is less 10%, and the recovery of carbon is in the range from 91% to 114%.
