  • A pedestrian portal monitor using plastic scintillation as detector for special nuclear material(SNM) is developed.At 2.58×10~(-9) C·kg~(-1)·h~(-1) of background and less than 1.2 m/s of pedestrian speed,the sensitivity is 2 g and 0.06 g for high(enrichment) uranium and low-burnup plutonium respectively;at 5.16×10~(-9) C·kg~(-1)·h~(-1)of background and less than 1.2 m/s of pedestrian speed,the sensitivity is 3 g and 0.08 g for high enrichment uranium and low-burnup plutonium respectively.The false alarm probability is less than 1/3 000.
