Abstract
In order to prevent nuclear proliferation, the RERTR plan was raised by the Department of Energy (DOE) in 1978 and was affirmed by IAEA. The main project of RERTR is developping a technology to replace high enriched uranium with low enriched uranium for the research/test reactor. The paper describes the progress of the RERTR, a series of work in development and research of the low enriched uranium fuel element, the status of the research and production of U_3Si_2-Al fuel element, and the new progress of the research on UMo alloy fuel in Nuclear Power Institute of China.
