Application of MCNP Code in Research of Neutron Detecting Technique in Nuclear Warhead Verifying

  • In order to design a way to measure the neutron spectrum of nuclear warhead in the process of nuclear weapon inspecting, neutron spectrum of a supposed nuclear warhead was calculated by using MCNP code. The result shows that the spectrum is a moderated spectrum and the energy of mostly neutrons is lower than 0.5 MeV. The significance of the conclusion to nuclear warhead verifying is discussed in the paper.
