Calculation of Response Relationship Between Pipeline Grease Stain Thickness and Ray Decay Rate With Monte-Carlo Method

  • In order to design a grease stain thickness non-destructive detector for petroleum pipeline, the decay rate of neutron and γ-ray in different petroleum pipeline of grease stain thickness were calculated with Monte-Carlo method. The response relationship between particle (neutron or γ) and grease stain thickness was found. The result shows that both neutron or γ-ray can be used to detect grease stain thickness of petroleum pipeline and neutron is more sensitive than γ-ray.
