Preparation of Monolithic Ferrite (Ⅲ) Oxide Aerogel by CO2 Supercritical Drying Process

  • Monolithic ferrite(Ⅲ) oxide aerogels were prepared from inorganic salt precursors by hydrolysis and condensation. The preparation process is straightforward, inexpensive and versatile, and the monolithic mesoporous materials with high specific surface areas and very low bulk density can be produced. Dried ferrite(Ⅲ) aerogel was characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and nitrogen adsorption/desorption analyses. The average pore diameter is in the range of 9.4-18.3 nm, and the specific surface area is 430-500 m2/g for the ferrite(Ⅲ) aerogel.
