Determination of Performance for Unit of Large Area Scintillating Fiber Array Detector at RIBLL Terminal

  • The structure of the large area scintillating fiber array (LASFA) detector and the characteristics of the scintillating fibers unit were described. The transmit efficiency and the effects on the time and spatial resolutions were measured in different conditions by using the different light guides with different shapes, materials and covering materials. In conclusion, the time and spatial resolutions were given and the best condition was determined for the light guide used in the LASFA detector.
