Reaction Kinetics of N, N-ethyl(hydroxyethyl)hydroxylamine With Nitrous Acid

  • The reaction between N,N-ethyl(hydroxyethyl)hydroxylamine (EHEH) and nitrous acid was spectrophotometrically investigated in the medium of HClO4 and the kinetic rate equation was obtained. The rate constant k is 3.43 (mol/L)-0.93•min-1 at 25 ℃, I=1.0 mol/L and activation energy Ea of the reaction is (50.0±2.5) kJ/mol. The reaction rate increases with rising temperature, the concentrations of EHEH and HClO4.
