Calculation of Liquid Scintillation Detector Efficiency

  • The paper presents two methods, CIEMAT/NIST method and a Fortran program, in order to calculate the counting efficiency of a liquid scintillation counting system. The quench correction curves for 3H and 14C were calculated by two methods and compared with experimental data obtained with two sets of quenched radioactive standard. The results agree well with the experiment values when the efficiency is lower.
