Neutron Yield, Energy Spectrum and Angular Distribution of Accelerator Based T(d,n)4He Reaction Neutron Source for Thick Target

  • A mathematical method and a computer program were developed to calculate the yield, energy spectrum and angular distribution of neutrons from the T(d,n)4He reaction in a thick tritium-titanium (TiTx) target for incident deuteron beam energies lower than 1.0 MeV. Some calculated results using this method are presented, including integrated neutron yields, neutron energy spectra and angular distributions. The reliability of the results was analyzed.
