Fission Track Evidence of Cenozoic Basin-Mountain Coupling of Southwest Shandong

  • Eight apatite samples were collected from Wenzu fault zone near Eastern Laiwu Basin, Southwest Shandong, China. All the samples present one component ages through the analysis of apatite fission track. There is an obvious trend that most of the AFT ages of the samples (except L3) from mountains are smaller than the ages of the samples from basin by comparison, which indicate the apatite in the basin samples was eroded and transported into the basin, and the AFT ages which recorded by the apatite represent the time of earlier uplift of mountains. The study reveals the relation of the Cenozoic basin-mountain coupling.
