Development of V2MB Used to Linearize Stress Results From VENUS

  • A new program V2MB was developed to linearize the stress components, principal stresses and stress intensity through the shell thickness by least square approximation to provide the membrane stress and membrane-plus-bending stress. This program was compared to another general purpose FEM program ANSYS and analysis solution for some special conditions. The results agree with each other very well. The validity of V2MB was proved.
