Calibration of PIXE System Using GUPIXWIN Software Package for Analyzing Spectra

H factor in GUPIXWIN software was calibrated for a PIXE system by using standard samples. The reasons for H value being dependent upon X-ray energy in low energy region were discussed. Four aerosol samples were analyzed using GUPIXWIN on the calibrated PIXE system. The results were compared with the ones given by AXIL, and the relative deviations between the two sets of results are generally within ±10%.
