Numerical Simulation of Single-Flow Resistance in Porous Media Channel

Abstract
A model for predicting single-phase flow resistance in channel filled with particles was developed by using Fluent6.3 software. It is showed that the predictions agree well with the experimental data for nondimensional D=0.16, 0.1 and 0.04; flow resistance increases with decrease of non-dimension diameter D; the pressure drop of single-phase in porous media channel can not be well predicted by existing models, from which the numerical results are considerably influenced by the selected methods for calculating the drag coefficient CF in these models.
