Study on Influence of Dual-Moderated Type Dose Detectors for High-Energy Neutrons

  • In order to measure the neutron dose of high-energy radiation fields and cosmic rays, based on the SMMC design, the dual-moderated type dose detectors for high-energy neutrons were improved. The detection sensitivity of high-energy neutrons increased with a spherical detector leaded to generate (n, xn) reaction. The energy for neutron dose measurement could be up to 10 GeV. The fluence responses of factors such as lead position, lead thickness, counters position, moderator diameter were calculated by MCNP and FLUKA codes, and the detector was determined.
