Primary Neutronics Research on Venus 2# Reactor Operating in Critical Mode

  • This paper carried out the primary scheme research on Venus 2# reactor which was configured by China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) spent fuel assemblies. The reactor is a dual purpose reactor which can operate in either subcritical mode (ADS mode) or critical mode. Based on the MVP-BURN Monte-Carlo depletion code, the schemed core was optimized by the calculation and analysis. The main nuclear parameters of reactor core were calculated for the optimized core.
