Absolute Measurement of 133Xe Activity Concentration

  • Noble gas xenon is one of important components for Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) International Monitoring System (IMS). Monitoring sample was generally measured by HPGe γ spectrometer and β-γ coincidence system. How to accurately determine the detect efficiency of the system was a nodus of radioactive Xe measurement. The theory and method of activity concentration measurement of radioactive Xe by internal gas proportional counting were studied. 133Xe activity concentration measured by internal gas proportional counting is 21.36×(1±1.5%) Bq/mL.
