Abstract
The responses of coaxial cable to different X-ray energy were calculated using transmission line (TL) method. The numerical results indicate that the response polarity is sensitive to the distribution of charges in medium layer for different photon energy, and the responses do not increase when the photon energy reaches to a certain level. For 1 MeV electron beams irradiating the tantalum target, the cable responses are combination effects due to forward electrons and photons, which are negative respectively, and the responses of forward electrons are larger than that of photons by 1.8 times at the most, and the responses of forward electrons distinctly decrease when aluminum materials are added behind the tantalum target.
